Who We Are

David Lane

Founder & CEO

David was called to ministry in 2013, specifically to be in the mission field. God presented this calling to David through a vision that motivated him to sell all his belongings and uproot his life in Kentucky to move to Guatemala to learn the language, culture, and what it entails to run a faith-based nonprofit. He was ordained in 2015 and has lead the ministry through obedience to the Lord.

Catherine Lane

Missions Coordinator

Catherine is David Lane’s wife, who assists on his side with all responsibility and organization of the ministry. She was born and raised in Switzerland as a non-Christian. In 2017 she volunteered at Uplifting Ministries and for the first time she was presented the Gospel. The holy spirit was moving her heart while helping at the ministry and Catherine gave her life to Jesus in 2019.

Marvin Hernandez

On Site Director

Marvin has been working for Uplifting Ministries since 2017. He is our Guatemalan director on site in Guazacapan. He has lived his whole life in Guazacapan and has been an amazing asset to the ministry. First, Marvin was hired as an accountant, to keep track of our expenses on site. However, he was called to do more at the ministry and is in charge of running all ministry activities on site as a director.

Gladys Rivera

Housekeeper

Gladys has been part of the team since 2018. She prepares meals for the Sponsor children, cleans, and organizes the facility. She is a single mother with two wonderful children. One of her children, Abner, is being sponsored by the ministry. Next to being our housekeeper, she makes handmade Teach to Fish keychains. She receives half of the sale of the keychains as an additional income for her family.

Pastor Saul

We have been blessed to have Pastor Saul as our pastor at Uplifting Christ Church since November 2022. He is from Comunidad La Reyna, Guatemala. In August 2021 he completed his Advanced Training of the Institute of Timothy and he is certified to train others in the manuals: caring for God's people, Christian stewardship, from mistreatment to harmony: Eliminating violence in the family, biblical preaching, teaching the Christian faith, praising God in work and worship, and God's plan for sustainable development.
